Parish Mission March 10 - 14, 2012

Last year a parish mission was offered at St. John parish in San Lorenzo.  This year, the Mission comes to OLG!  Maryknoll missioner, Fr. Tom Marti, MM will travel from Seattle to lead our parish in an exploration of how God calls all baptized people to a closer relationship with God and with our brothers and sisters everywhere by preaching at all of the Masses that weekend and offering workshops every morning and evening. Fr. Tom worked for many years in the Philippines, mostly on Mindanao, and has a lot of stories to share with us.   Maryknoll missioner, Deacon Leonel Yoque works in the Los Angeles office.  He will be offering the Mission in Spanish at St. John the Baptist Mon - Wed, morning and Mon - Tue evenings Click here to download the flyer with details.  See you at the Mission!

SIGN "LIFE" INITIATIVES FOR NOVEMBER BALLOT

• California’s Bishops are supporting two initiatives seeking qualification for the November ballot – parental notification before a minor can get an abortion and an end to the use of the death penalty. Because of the centrality of life issues to Catholic teaching, the Bishops are making an exception to their normal procedure and voicing support for these 2 initiatives prior to qualification for the ballot. You will have an opportunity to sign these initiatives after the Masses on January 28 and 29 and on February 4 - 5.  Tables will be set out at the entrances to the church for your convenience.
